Thumbnails represent the initial step of any design. They are the smallest and least defined art you will make, yet they carry much of the weight of your potential.
Improving Thumbnailing is a class designed to help you get the most out of the thumbnailing process. Emphasis will be placed on helping artists to make intuitive design decisions and engaging with the looser side of your visual library to create better designs. We will cover a variety of exercises and discuss the goals of thumbnailing in great depth. Students will do everything from Gesture thumbnailing, to Character/Costume thumbnailing, to Creature thumbnailing, to Hard-Surface thumbnailing, to any other applicable uses.
This class can be done in any medium, as the focus is on theory and not software. This class is geared toward intermediate artists, but applicable and a good refresher/intro for all skill levels.
