This program is for artists who want to level up their skills in concept design, advanced techniques & portfolio. Students will expected devote time and be dedicated in order to get through the program.  No two students' mentorship will be alike, each student to help him/her achieve their individual goals- whether it be to improve their current technical or design skills or to build a portfolio. Each student will receive 1 hrs personalized time with the instructor per week.  You can also be a part of hours of critiques and demos with the rest of the group.  Students will be expected to devote time in order to accomplish their goals for this program. 

2021 Mentorship dates - 3 months per term

Term 1: Jan 16, 2021 - April 4, 2021
Term 2: May 1, 2021 - July 17, 2021
Term 3: Aug 28, 2021 - Nov 14, 2021

Mentorship groups meet once a week. 2 groups will meet on Saturdays or Sunday for 5 hours.  Materials will be streamed & recorded. Meetings will be hosted via gotomeeting.com platform. Links will be posted and emailed on the day of meeting.

Price: $1,800 per month

Jonathan is an energetic veteran of the video game & illustration industry.  He is currently a senior concept artist at Turtle Rock, and previous with DICE EA.  His broad design skills range from environments, weapon design, animal/creature design and more!

This mentorship has one main objective:  Create visual clarity and communication with concept art!  Jonathan will guide you step by step, with his process, to develop the visual clarity theories that allows your art to speak for itself!    Students can expect to be pushed to showcase clear & readable problem solving, ideas and concepts that will be utilized within any art department in the entertainment industry.  Every aspect of your skills will be developed from your comprehension of tasks, preparation / research, sketch communication, painting and rendering.

This is open to all skill levels.

You will develop two main areas of focus: the ability to design a world & the ability to artistically represent the world you design. All students will develop the skills in composition, color theory, design and digital painting. Saiful is a visionary designer and director in both concept design & industrial design industries.  His experience ranges from blockbuster feature film, commercials, television shows and video games.

This mentorship is to focus on originality in your work. What is your voice? What is your style? What makes you stick out from all the amazing concept art out there that looks the same??

If you want to get a job, how can you design a portfolio so that you are hired for YOUR VOICE and not because of your ability to imitate a favored concept artist. You want to get hired for who you are.. so let's figure it out!

This is an intermediate & advanced level mentorship to develop YOUR IDENTITY, with a focus on how to create a pipeline that in beneficial to the way you like to work.

Student’s will be put through various exercises to develop their design muscles, identify and break bad habits, with the intent to develop any personal project or portfolio your heart desires.

Student’s will also get exposure to VR (virtual reality) software, a leading technology that is making waves in the concept design world.

Saiful will guide you in this process from idea, to the art of research, art direction rules, and world building mechanics, to rough concepts and final creation. 

Meeting time: Tuesday 9am - 1pm, Wednesday 7am - 8am & Thursday 7am-8am

Join Peter Han in a full 3 month online mentorship program focusing on the most important aspect part of art & design education: Foundation.  Although foundation is important for all level artists, this program is for beginner to intermediate artists ( art school entry, 1-2 year art school students, intermediate- advanced level students looking to reinforce foundation skills).  This 3 month program will be a limited seating and intimate experience with Peter.  Other aspects of learning will include developing core work ethic, learning how to organize your thought process as a designer, time management and how to see the world in the eye of a concept artist.  This mentorship program is for the serious student looking to advance their core skills.    Students will be expected to devote time, be committed and dedicated in order to accomplish their goals for this program.

 

This is open to all skill levels.  A limit of 10 students

Foundation is everything!  This program is designed for students who want to improve their fundamental skills.  Each student will receive 2 hrs personalized time with the instructor per week.  You can also be a part of hours of critiques and demos with the rest of the group.  Students will be expected to devote time in order to accomplish their goals for this program. 

Learn how to break down shape & form, how to utilize line weight and value to create stunning artwork.  The mentorship will emphasize studying and emulating master illustrators to develop techniques which will enable students to draw anything.

Tuesday & Friday 8am - 2pm PST
*as scheduled for a full class

Mentorship meets 2 x per week (Tuesday & Friday from 8am - 2pm PST) through an online designated private room.  Limited to 12 seats in this group.  You will have 2 hours per week one on one with James Murphy as well as being a part up to 10 more hrs of critique, demo & discussion!
