This program is designed for those who want to level up their skills, learn about design, and build a portfolio. The duration of this program is not constraint to a fixed time (i.e. what would normally be a term at Brainstorm), but more on what you need to accomplish. Students will be expected to devote time, be committed and dedicated in order to accomplish their goals for this program.  No two students' mentorship will be alike, as John will work with each student to help him/her achieve their individual goals- whether it be to improve their current technical or design skills or to build a portfolio.

2020 Mentorship dates - 12 weeks per term

Term 1: Jan 18 - April 4 (open for enrollment)
Term 2: May 2 - July 18 (open for enrollment)
Term 3: Aug 29 - Nov 14 (open for enrollment)

Mentorship groups meet once a week. There will be 2 groups of 5 students meeting on Saturdays from 9am - 2pm PST or Sunday from 9am - 2pm PST.  Materials will be streamed and recorded for student viewing via gotomeeting.com platform. Links will be posted and emailed on the day of meeting.

2019 slots are all sold out, but to be put on the wait list, please email us.

Foundation Mentorship Group with Peter Han

Join Peter Han in a full 3 month mentorship program focusing on the most important aspect part of art & design education: Foundation.  Although foundation is important for all level artists, this program is for beginner to intermediate artists ( art school entry, 1-2 year art school students, intermediate- advanced level students looking to reinforce foundation skills).  This 3 month program will be a limited seating and intimate experience with Peter.  Other aspects of learning will include developing core work ethic, learning how to organize your thought process as a designer, time management and how to see the world in the eye of a concept artist.  This mentorship program is for the serious student looking to advance their core skills.    Students will be expected to devote time, be committed and dedicated in order to accomplish their goals for this program.

 

Starting: Jan 23, 2019 - April 12, 2019

Meeting times:
Wednesday 10am - 6pm
Friday 12noon - 6pm

Limit 12 students  / 12 hours per week

Price:
$5,400 for 3 months - 3 month commitment is required  (24 meetings)

Suggested Materials: Pens, pencils, sketchbook, loose paper, markers, digital camera, laptop.

Foundation Mentorship Online with James Murphy

This program is designed for students who want to improve their fundamental skills and illustrative technique.  We will learn how to break down the visual world into the building blocks of shape and form and how to utilize line and value to create aesthetic images.  Additionally, the mentorship will emphasize artistic style by studying and emulating master illustrators.  These techniques will enable students to begin drawing subjects at any angle and from imagination.  

great for students who are looking to develop skills in drawing organic forms such as human and animal anotomy, character posing, clothing & drapery. This is a program heavily focused on drawing and great for students looking to develop foundation art skills. This program is for beginner to intermediate artists.   Students will be expected to devote time, be committed and dedicated in order to accomplish their goals for this program.

Tuesday & Friday 8am - 2pm PST

Mentorship groups meet twice a week on Tuesday & Friday from 8am - 2pm PST with scheduled breaks.   Meetings will be facilitated online in a designated and private room.  Limited to 12 seats in this  group.  Email us for availability.
