Painting with Value & Light

This course will focus on high level digital painting and rendering, using value and color to emphasise storytelling and creating good narrative based compositions. Students will learn the process of ideation exploration using value. This class will also focus on how to use color theory & lighting to set the mood and tell a story in a single image.

Instructor: Dom Lay, Freelance Concept artist & Instructor

Dom Lay is a freelance artist specializing in visual development, concept, storytelling, and worldbuilding.
Over the course of his artistic career he has developed, marketed, and sold personal intellectual properties globally.
Meanwhile he also teaches digital painting courses on the side and enjoys sharing knowledge to new up and coming artists entering the entertainment field.

Suggested Materials: Photoshop CS6 or higher, Tablet or Cintique

Other requirements: Cable speed internet (30 mb or higher)

Flash Structure: 5 Weeks, 2 hours per week. Course structured to deliver focused information and techniques. Each week will be live demonstrations and Lecture. There is no feedback offered in this course.
