WBA: Environment Sketching for Animation

Learn how to design amazing worlds! Start with the fundamentals of how to build interior and exterior environments with proper perspective, layout and design. Master the ability to sketch and communicate designs for the animation industry.

Instructor: Phillip Burrows Jr, Visual Development Artist & Instructor

Phillip Burrows Jr is currently a Background Designer on Rick & Morty at Green Portal Productions. He was previously a Conceptual Designer at themed entertainment company The Hettema Group (now THG) working on themed attraction spaces as well as luxury performance shows. Additional clients include Nickelodeon, and Hotopp Creative.

Focus: Becoming a better sketch environment designer. Apply your creative imagination to creative worlds using foundation techniques.

Recommended education experience: PBC, FND1, AD1

Suggested Materials: A computer or tablet with comparable drawing software such as photoshop, pro create etc

Location: All SUMMER 2024 Term courses will be held online. All material, course structure and syllabus will remain the same. Class will meet in an online meeting room hosted by Brainstorm School.

Requirements: Computer with Photoshop and high speed internet. Mic (highly recommended) and camera (optional)
