CH: Intro to Character Design

This is an introductory class to learn the basics of character design. You will learn the basic fundamentals of design theory and archetypes for designing characters for film and games.   The course concentrates on the core design fundamentals, such as silhouettes, poses, color variations and more.

Instructor:  Charles Lin, Concept artist & Instructor

Charles Lin is an Australian designer with a background in industrial design and education. Charles has been involved in both education and entertainment design for the last 10 years and has worked both in film and television, as well as game development. He has taught both trade and bachelor level design course in Australia, Singapore, and North America.

Focus: Becoming a better character designer

Recommended education experience: FIG1, FND1 and CABC

Suggested Materials: A computer or tablet with comparable drawing software such as photoshop, pro create etc

Location: All SUMMER 2024 Term courses will be held online.  All material, course structure and syllabus will remain the same.  Class will meet in an online meeting room hosted by Brainstorm School.

Requirements:  Computer with Photoshop and high speed internet.  Mic (highly recommended) and camera (optional)
