Advanced Environment Techniques In 3d With Oliver Beck

Advanced Environment Techniques in 3D with Oliver Beck In this workshop, we will learn how to fast track our design process in 3D. Oliver will walk you through his workflow| starting with a simple sketch to creating a detailed architecture design, using a variety of tools in Blender. We will than delve into building out a full environment shot with our new design and touch on some world building as well. Oliver Beck is a concept artist based in Dubai. He has worked as a freelancer for the past four years for a variety of clients in games, movies and themed entertainment. Some of his clients include NEOM, The Mill, DNEG, NBC Universal, Nickelodeon and Terraform. He has been a teacher at Brainstorm for over two years. Special Effects Drawing and Animation with Spencer Wan

In this workshop, Spencer will focus on how to construct your special effects to make them more dynamic and easier to understand. He will also demonstrate his process for animating lightning, fire, water, smoke, and debris. He will also break down how he animated his most well known work, the opening credits for Netflix’s Castlevania.
For this workshop, it is recommended that you have an understanding of the 12 basic principles of animation, but it isn’t strictly necessary.
Spencer Wan's Bio- Spencer Wan is a traditional animator who is known for his work on Castlevania (2017); The Owl House (2020); and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Wan is also the founder and director of Studio Grackle, the studio responsible for animating the trailer for the video game Hades (2018) by Supergiant Games.

The Art of World-Building

In this workshop we will cover the full design process of creating a unique world, starting with design iterations, sketches, and then using a variety of 2D/3D tools such as Photoshop, Blender, and 3DCoat. We will delve into the art of world-building, drawing inspiration from various sources such as history, culture, and nature to design unique and captivating environments. Mikael Javaid-Camua is a Concept Artist and Visual Development artist working in games, animation, and film. He has worked on IP's such as the Call of Duty series, Jurassic World, Watchmen, Apex Legends and has worked with clients such as Activision, Netflix, Dreamworks, Warner Bros. and Meta.

If you wish to pursue a career in gaming and concept, these workshops, when combined with practice, can prepare you for our courses.
