VD1: VISUAL DEVELOPMENT FOR ANIMATION
In this project based class Students will experience a professional environment, using the current software, tools and techniques to develop characters, props and environment concepts from traditional pencil thumbnails through to final digital designs. Live action and animation shape language will be studied and referenced as foundational skills are demonstrated in an online setting.

Recommended education experience: PBC, FND1, WB1A, AD1
Suggested Materials: Computer (MAC or PC) w/ Webcam, Microphone & Photoshop CC, Stylus & Tablet, Portable Drive or USB Drive, Sketchbook, Fine Point (or Extra Fine Point) Black Sharpie Markers, Sketchbook (unruled), Prismacolor Verithin & Prismacolor Pencils in Indigo Blue, Sepia or Black, Pencil Sharpener, Kneaded Eraser, Smartphone w/ Camera, Slack & Skype software (for phone & computer)

Location: All SUMMER 2024 Term courses will be held online. All material, course structure and syllabus will remain the same. Class will meet in an online meeting room hosted by Brainstorm School.
Requirements: Computer with Photoshop and high speed internet. Mic (highly recommended) and camera (optional)
